baked mac n cheese asian style

look at those melting cheese...nyummm...




cheese - white sauce - macaroni layer

ok, since today is friday and we have a long holiday stretch ahead of us, why dun we try something new into our daily menu. i've been baking this few times already when we got bored with rice n dishes kinda lunch. its easy, using simple ingredients around the kitchen and its sharable. i especially baked this when someones are coming over. just serve with cold drinks and you're done. so, as i promised here are the recipes. i googled a few recipes, asked my frens how they do it and modified it to follow my husband who-do-not-eat-non-malay-food appetite. ok, 1stly, you may want to modified them according to your taste coz in cooking you cannot meassure evrything precisely. heck, i didn't meassure them everytime i cook. i just follow my guts and throw everything in. resepi in malay coz easy to use the ulas, biji, rumpun whatsoever (panjang betul mukadimah, resepi tak masuk2 lagi...pffttt)





2 cawan macaroni - rebus dalam air bergaram+sedikit minyak so that it doesn't stick together


4 biji bawang merah - hiris


5 ulas bawang putih - hiris


2 sb cili boh/cili blend


1 sb serbuk kari


1 pek daging cincang - boleh jugak guna ayam, isi ayam dadu, seafood, up to selera masing2


1/2 sb rempah spaghetti bolognese - dah siap mix dalam botol, brand masterfood kot.


1 biji capsicum - didadu


1 biji carrot - didadu/potong kecil


1 biji tomato - didadu


1 tin cendawan butang - dipotong 4


garam, gula, perasa (secukup rasa/pasti sedap/ajinomoto)





1 kotak kecik susu fullcream


1 sb tepung gandum


mozarella cheese - parut (aku guna balance cheese slice yang makan dengan roti jer. tapi itu masin sikitla)





inti :




tumis bawang2 sampai naik bau.


masukkan cili blend n serbuk kari. tumis sampai naik minyak.


masuk daging. once daging dah masak, rempah bolognese, garam, gula, perasa ikut selera.


masuk sayur2 dan cendawan.


once carrot dah lembut sikit, masuk macaroni, gaul biar rata then tutup api. masukkan dalam mangkuk kaca (khas untuk bakar punya. jangan taram pakai mangkuk hidang tau. pecah lak kang) untuk dibakar.





white sauce :


in a saucepan, masukkan susu fullcream, biar sampai mendidih sikit then masukkan tepung sikit demi sikit dan whisk sampai tepung larut dan sauce mengental. tutup api, tuang sauce atas macaroni tadi. taburkan cheese parut diatas, menutupi semua white sauce. the bakar dalam oven 180 degree sampai cheese kekuningan cukup coz macaroni tuh memang dah siap masak.





rasanya pedas2 ala asian sikit sebab ada letak rempah kari. tak masam sangat n tak muak sangat coz cheese tuh tak overpower the whole dish. tapi kalau korang suka cheese banyak, ikut selera korangla. my husband liked it instead of the normal spaghetti bolognese and lasagna. oh, before i forget. this dish sedap makan panas2. kalau dah sejuk pastu nak reheat balik, merasala macam makan getah sekerap. hahaha. hopefully you'll enjoy it as we are.
